Advocacy
The views and opinions of the young adults at Mercury College and it’s associated residential and supported living services are very important to us. Thatβs why weβve put lots of opportunities in place to make sure they are heard.
Our βPeopleβs Rights and Having a Sayβ policy underpins this and gives everyone here a guide to how we listen to and support their views.
Advocacy services are available for each site to further enhance our provision and our commitment to properly facilitating each personβs expression of their needs, wishes, aspirations and fears. The service also reflects our openness to external scrutiny and offers a resource for staff to access, should they have concerns they might want an independent, external person to hear and potentially act upon.
We also have a Residents Council who meet regularly and play a big part in planning events and offering suggestions for the services.
